I'm finally getting back into the swing of things since my return from vacation in Germany (pics to come). Still feeling a little jet-lagged, but I'm enjoying a few days at my parents' house and working on various projects and baking. Next week it's back to the real world!

Here is a simple DIY for all you wine lovers (myself included). Put all those corks to good use by turning them into coasters or trivets! Start by cutting your corks in half so they are not as tall (I found that a sharp kitchen knife did the job quite nicely) and then begin placing them into a pipe clamp (available at hardware stores). Use smaller pipe clamps for coasters and larger ones if your making a trivet for a pot or pan. When you have them situated the way you like, use a screwdriver to tighten the clamp and hold the corks in place - no glue necessary!
Finally, go pour yourself a glass of wine and test out your new coasters!

Today, I finished up a birthday gift for my Oma. I made these mini watercolor paintings and attached them to blank cards so she always has cards on hand when she needs them! For storage, I will be keeping them in a wooden box I made previously (DIY on that coming soon). Can't wait to give this to her!
