Continuing with the copper trend is this lovely necklace! To make this, all you need is soft copper tubing (found in the plumbing section of a hardware store), cord - in this case I used a mint colored leather cord. Cut the desired length of tubing off with a small pipe cutter, curve into an arc and smooth down the edges. I went with an angled end on my piece. Then string it on to the cord and it's done!

Here is some more inspiration for DIY jewelry! I've been seeing very similar wood bead designs popping up on Etsy and Pinterest, and as much as I like to support other DIYers, I have a hard time purchasing something I know I can make myself (of course I would never try to sell these).  I think it's so much fun to be inspired by others and when you like something that's out of your skill range or you know you would never get around to making it it's always great to support small businesses that sell all kinds of amazing products!

This skirt was my first official sewing project! I learned a lot from making this, most importantly that I do not have a knack for sewing and as much as I love the results of a sewing project it's just not something I really enjoy the process of.  Nevertheless, it was a good challenge and I'm so glad I made this skirt. I think I will still give this pattern a few more tries, adjusting as I go and learning from my first mistakes!
