R a s p b e r r y & C r e a m P a s t r y

I made this dessert while I was visiting family in Germany and served it at a backyard cookout we went to. It was a big hit! Especially since it was a not-too-sweet or filling dessert. It also came together quite quickly!
Please check out the original recipe here
The only big change I made was using shaved chocolate nibs instead of cocoa powder. These are very easy to find in Germany, but that doesn't seem to be the case in the US. I think mini chocolate chips would be a decent substitute (I also mixed some of the chocolate in with the cream and almonds).
I will definitely be making this one again! I think it would be great with other kinds of fruit as well.
Enjoy!

C r a f t B r e a k : S i m p l e S k i r t

This skirt was my first official sewing project! I learned a lot from making this, most importantly that I do not have a knack for sewing and as much as I love the results of a sewing project it's just not something I really enjoy the process of.  Nevertheless, it was a good challenge and I'm so glad I made this skirt. I think I will still give this pattern a few more tries, adjusting as I go and learning from my first mistakes!

M y O m a ' s G a r d e n

I'm always amazed at how beautiful my Oma's garden is. It's one of my favorite sights to see as we arrive at my grandparent's house in Germany. Not only are there lovely flowers growing all over the place; there are also cherries, raspberries, wild strawberries, apples, currants, and a vegetable garden.
I am missing this place already.

C r a f t B r e a k : F e l t F l o w e r s

Here is another simple way to display your felt flowers!
Can you tell I like making these? They make such great gifts! I took these with me to Germany to give a little handmade gift to some of my family members.
