C r a f t B r e a k : B l o g C a r d s

I recently made some blog cards to give away, but I think they will need an addition as I will hopefully be opening up an Etsy shop in the near future!

D e c o r U p d a t e : T e a S t a t i o n

I've been on a tea kick for a few months now and decided to make a little tea station in my kitchen in an area that wasn't truly being utilized. It's nice to have everything displayed in one place and it also allows my guests to easily access these items. Definitely a lovely and useful update to the cluttered 'catch-all' bowl that used to be sitting in this space!

F o o d i e : C h i c k e n N o o d l e S o u p

This is such a delicious and warming dish for a cold winter day or a day with a cold.
- and considering the windchill temps around here are well below zero today I think a bowl of hot soup is more than appropriate.

Ingredients:
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 large chicken breast, cubed
- 3/4 cup chopped carrots
- 3/4 cup thinly sliced leek (I've never been a fan of celery in soup and leek makes a great substitution!
credit to my mother for this idea)
- big handful (or two) noodles of your choice (I suggest small soup noodles or no yolks)
- salt and white pepper to taste

(makes two hearty servings)

To make:
Toss cubed chicken into broth and boil until chicken is cooked through. Add carrrots and leek and allow to cook until carrots are to your desired consistency. Then add pasta and boil until noodels are done. Season to taste. Lastly, scoop into a bowl, snuggle up on the couch with some blankets and enjoy!

Take that, Campbell's.

This was my first ever attempt at making guacamole and oh man, was it good!

Ingredients:
- 1 avocado smashed
- 1 medium sized tomato diced
- 1/4 of a small onion minced (& soaked in warm water for ~ 10 min to reduce the raw "bite")
- small handful of cilantro finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin (this is what brings it all together!)

(recipe can easily be doubled or tripled) (try adding a minced jalapeño for a spicy version)

To make:
Scoop the avocado into a bowl and smash to desired consistency with a fork. Mix in all other ingredients. Grab some chips. Devour.

This salad was delicious! The fried citrus zest makes for a lovely addition to an otherwise simple salad. To make the fried citrus: sauté the zest of one lemon in a little bit of olive oil until it turns a golden brown color. Find the full salad and dressing recipe here
I'm definitely going to be making this one again!

I was so happy with how this project turned out!
I free handed my pattern but you can also find some available on the web.
A tip for reducing glitter loss is to mix the glitter into the mod podge instead of just sprinkling it on top.
Either stitch on the ribbon closure before adding glitter to the felt or glue it to the back.
Enjoy!

My dad got me a Ollo Clip lens set for my iPhone, which includes a macro, wide angle and fisheye lens. Here are just a few of the first shots from playing around with the fisheye lens. Aren't we an attractive family?

This idea for little clay bowls has been floating around Pinterest for awhile, so I thought I'd give it a try. This was such a fun project! Making these bowls can even be a little addicting - at least it was for me...
More pictures of other styles to come.
